That is not a resonator cone. It is a plastic bag from Lowes. Thanks. I am not totally disappointed with it.

I sent pics to the future owner and she told me her deceased cat was a black smoke colored kitty. It looks like I got lucky and she likes the black burst quite a bit. Me? I'm not sold but I was never much of a burst guy.

That's an easy mistake to make.

Thanks everyone, for not caring enough to say anything. Your apathy has been overwhelming. laughing6-hehe

I find myself getting quite good at this non-caring thing and find I really don't care at all that not only does the burst look like an excellent fix for the problem but will probably look quite nice on the completed instrument. Too bad I really don't care.

You'd be sensitive too if you had nipples on the soles of your shoes. Paul Simon changed the lyrics.

I got a PM from a rube who prefers to remain nameless, wondering what the Paul Simon reference was. I'm not sure why someone would make stringed instruments if they hate music though.

I probably shouldn’t have called him out on the open forum. He just threatened to put me in a pit in his basement. I’ll just have to kidnap his precious to effect my escape.

I don't want to point any fingers^^^^ but somebody ^^^^around here^^^ sounds like a jerk! laughing6-hehe

Just kidding. I know it is not the greatest burst to ever grace the pages of this forum, but I was going for something like this:
Image

And I got as close as I could with the limited space available on the face of a ukulele. Plus, dude...you have to wait till its all done! Don't judge my pig before I put the lipstick on it!

I really hate to bring this up, but the lighter colors of a burst usually go on first... duh

If anybody cared you'd have to sand it off and do it over! laughing6-hehe

That would be true if there were any other colors going on. But there are not. It will only be black and it will be none more black.

Ok. It looks bad. I might be pulling out of this challenge and starting a new uke. I simply don't have the time to properly fix this and finish. Or, I could finish it for laughs and then start a new one anyway.
